Abstract
In order to fulfill the stringent requirements of in modern drive systems, researchers are developing motor drives with high efficiency, high power density and good dynamic performance Recently, a new design concept of permanent magnet (PM) brushless motors has been developed [1}-{3] The basic to this concept is providing an independent magnetic flux path for each phase of these motors, so-called phase decoupling (PD) PM brushless motors.
